It will be a year on Dec 12th, 2006 since we moved into our own house. everybody is excited in their own way. hubby finds it sweet to give his own home address at the company and boys find it exciting that they can find a lot of caterpillars in their own home, which according to my eldest is a sure way to have a successful bird shop! (we collect the caterpillars --> the birds will come looking for it --> we can pet the birds!!!) i havent been able to convert our cohabitants for money-making issues but still, i enjoy the home.

Especially when i wake up early and come out and see the green lawn dotted with the button roses, makes me really happy. the calm location of our home only with the joggers and school going kids to break the silence, adds to the wonderful feeling. cleaning up the big home is the only hiccup i have got. i am not complaining yet tho'. there are a few problems to cleaning because it is an old home. but, we work around it.

we had the diyas lit up in our very own home yesterday as it was thirukarthigai. because of the open space, the diyas were going off all the time. but, me and him had a nice time lighting them and the home looked very pretty. pity the boys wouldnt come and enjoy these little but happy times. oh, well, maybe when they grow up just a little.

i have to get more furniture for my home. it is getting really tough with our overflowing stuff. i have to concentrate on the kids room first. they have been asking for a bunk bed for a long time. and i should get some shelves and a work table so that he will be a bit more organized. atleast he will be able to find the things that he needs right next to him. then, i must settle the meditation room. it needs a lot of focus and plants. yep, i need more plants at home.

What do i do to get a job? i am a computer engineer with MS degree from the US. but was not able to work right after graduation due to some personal priorities. now, 2 years after the degree, i am ready to step into the big bad world on my own. would like ot sit in a desk and think and put my mind into it. i am not looking for a career-oriented, hi-fi job. just a calm, sweet job that will keep me busy with and keep my brains rattling. i dont know how to look around for such kinda job! i dont want to look at a teaching job yet, though it gives me all the facilities like flexible timings and holidays. would like to look for a desk job for some more time.

i cant believe that we have our own home! it took us around 6 months to transform the house we bought into our home. now that we have moved in, it seems to fit us in very nicely. the kids enjoy the ample space and senthil loves gardening!!! who could have thought about that!!! he is becoming quite the gardener-guy. making his own "patthi" for the trees and everything! our lawn is also nice makes me proud of this house. just need more time with my man to make everything nice and happy...

It has been 2 months since we started on this project to make our home out of a house... and it is still going on strong. We have a contractor who sees thro the work and a mastry and a whole lot of people working. The aim is to make a traditional, old-type house into a sleek, modern one.

The existing house had 2 bedrooms in the gf (both had baths) and 2 in the ff - all tiny, matchbox type ones w/o much of shelving or storage. the gf had a long living room, leading to the kitchen. and there is a small storage room. there was no dining room. i guess they used part of the living room. and leading from the kitchen, there is a service area for the clothes-hanger, washing m/c etc. interestingly there is also a storage room nearby. the stairs leading to the ff was avery small, narrow one that we wanted to change. the most catchy factor about this house are the trees. beautiful pomegranate, sweet guava, and 2 coconut trees. my kids love the trees and he has even collected a box of seeds to be planted in the new house! my hubby got agooseberry from a restort to be planted.

i really wanted a formal living room and a family room as i firmly believe that the family room will help my boys -7,2 -keep the clutter away from the living room. my hubby came up w/ the brilliant idea of putting together the br and bathroom and opening it up w/ the storage room (which will become our dining room). so, our family room is nice big one with the dr at the end. now, they have removed the walls betw the br and bathr, it looks really nice. willcontinue later as my son is calling...
